  • That was interesting. I have never been able to figure out how to wear a sari. I have two and I ended up using them as table cloths. I should use that link she provided to learn how to do it.

  • Should you happen to find some time pre-move and would like to tell us what you’ve been reading you’ve been tagged.

  • I couldn’t get that link to work for me, but I look forward to you dishing about books! If you rememer the date of the entry I’ll go back and find it.

  • I love that movie, Monsoon Wedding!!!  I know its only partially related, but have you ever seen Bride and Prejudice?  Its funny, cheesy and directed by the same lady that did Bend it like Beckham.
You know I almost bought a sari once with a friend, but I cheaped out and also realized that I needed to gain a little confidence to pull it off.
Anywho, you sure wrote quite a bit in the time that I took off from Xanga.  In regards to your post about summer, I have a love/hate relationship with it.  I love it because it feels carefree and fun and its vacation time.  You see all the friends you’ve neglected during the rest of the year and its so laid back.  I hate it because its hot!!!  Sickeningly hot.  I’m not good with heat and I tend to get headaches and nosebleeds when I’m overheated.
In regards to your post about the doctor, I just had a physical and I hated it so much.  The doctor had to examine my breast for lumps and being the ticklish prude that I am I started cackling like a fool!  It was terrible.  I’m not a fan of the doctor’s office.  Needles, examinations, the smell, it all gets to me.
Finally RYC:  I am so excited to be leaving soon.  I nervous, but I know its going to be fabulous.  I like my Visa picture.  I look very serious and its funny cuz I’m not.  But my hair looks good and so does my make-up.  I very much would love to hang out in the UK!!!!  You could come to London or I could go to you!  I would love to see a familiar face in such an unfamiliar place.
Okay I’m done now.  I swear I didn’t mean to write an essay, but I guess since I talk a lot, I also write a lot.  People are going to be like, “who is this panda person and why does she write so much?”  Oh well.  Tootles!

  • ryc: The break hasn’t been luxurious for me since every one I’ve had so far has involved work or school. But right now I have two more weeks off without either and it feels weird. Good weird! Perhaps if I don’t need ot earn extra cash next summer I’ll be able to bask. But I do think that teachers, with all the holiday breaks too have a bit more down time than others. I would like to say we all need it due to the emotional toll and long hours of the regular school day, but frankly and honestly, many don’t give a rat’s hiney and never work a minute past the last bell sadly. (And my co-workers hate it when I say that.) But it’s okay, I’m talking out of school because I am out school!

  • ryc: That excerpt was brilliant! Thanks for writing there. So far, the only thing that has worked to diffuse the tirades before they ever happen has been the guidance of my friend to seek the root cause of the behaviors and to learn how to counteract them by being my own calming voice first. It is so cool to me, but not something typically valued as a strength, though it should be. But anyway to handle it to keep others from enduring it is valuable in my book!

  • I come via Boo. She recommends a recipe you once posted and/or gave her. I will have to hunt down that comment and find out what the recipe was for. Also, your comments on her site are very wise.
I will read the link when I am not stealing time at work, but i just wanted to let you know that I think your profile pic is spellbinding.
But then, I’m a sucker for shiny objects, too.
