Behold my pics!
Day two of getting back into my life is going good so far. This morning I ate granola at the table like a normal human being. And I got a chance to lounge in my pajamas and look through some of the great pictures we’ve been taking lately. I thought I’d share a few with you Xanga peeps. Enjoy!
From 12 – 20 May, Shaun’s mom, aunt, and sister were in town. They swam all the way across the ocean to kick it with us. Very nice people. Very good swimmers. Here’s the gang showing off their sculptures at The Scottish Show 07 opening on 17 May; this was a major exhibition of the festival that I work for and it was cool for them to see the big, beautiful craziness of it all.
While the family was here, Shaun and I drove them to the East cost of Scotland to relax in the gorgeous sea side town of St. Andrews. Here is the boy and his ma. Shiny.
Sometimes I like to lay down with my head hanging off of jutting cliffs while Shaun takes a picture of me from above as I pretend to fall into the abyss. It is very funny; while feining horror, my nostrils flare to startling widths. They are almost as big as my mouth!AHHHHHHHHHH!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Besides the abyss, St. Andrews also has an old cathedral and castle. This is the cathedral jutting into a dramatic Scottish sky.
This is me pretending to slay vampires.
We also went to the Scottish Wool Centre, which might seem like a drag, but actually it is da bomb. The sheep dogs do tricks and round up animals. The sheep baaaa like they are dry heaving and the whole thing is really funny and sort of smelly.
LOOK AT MY OWL!!!
It’s a Tawny Owl named Furby that I met at the Wool Centre. I love him. I want to cuddle him. But like Twin Peaks taught me, “The owls are not what they seem.” So I did ‘ne cuddle. Just looked.
We also stopped by Loch Lomond one sunny afternoon. I have lots of pictures of the Loch but this one of knarly roots was my favorite.
This is what Scottish people call a Hairy Coo.
This is just a cute picture of Shaun and I waiting for the bus in Chicago. Its from last year and it reminded me of how little the sun shines on this green little island. We were so golden in Chicago! And I am a liberal applier of sun block and a seeker of shade! Here in Scotland we are the color of dough.

How are you lounging this Sunday morning?

Great photos of getting out and about. I particularly like the vampire-slaying pose and the owl. Way to interact!
Trying to wring a bit of lounging this manana, but I really should do some shopping and hook up the hose to wash the car. But enjoying the (relative) silence for now.
Excellent photos. I, too, like owls, and I, too, heed the advice of Twin Peaks. I have not yet mastered silent drape runners, however.
I lounged this icky (it’s icky here) Sunday morning by reading a less-than-improving (although fun to read) mystery novel.
Grooving on the Buffy! I do appreciate a good prank falling pic too. Woman you are gorgeous doughy or golden. I’m betting lime green would suit you too.
This morning I ended editing a movie for our school’s softball team. Two entries on that is enough. I am doing this weird balance of actual blog and sort of letters from home for a friend in Iraq who reads. The movies are more sort of for that and learning tan anything else and I have several more slated on various topics.
Hey! If you want to see something from the US that I can get to let me know and I will try to get a video for you of it. Eventually I do have a purpose for these acquired skills.
Great pix. I love the ones of you leaning off the edge of the cliffs. OOOO NOOO!
I didn’t lounge this Sunday. First I dropped my son off downtown so that we can have his car worked on (daffy old man drove into him and is now claiming to the insurance company that Erik drove into *him*). Then I did errands and shopped for junk we need. Then I weeded with a vengeance. Die, die, die, weeds! There still are more to go, but it’s looking less like a jungle around here. Then I fell asleep for an hour. Can you blame me. The traffic alone took it out of me.
RYC: Door County is really not that great. I honestly don’t know why it’s such a big vacation spot for Chicagoans. Michigan has much nicer spots and I’m sure you’ve seen them. Never heard of the A-frame restaurant.
No lounging for me on sunday morning.
It’s cool though. Totally love the buffy pose!
